FLASHBACK: FOGAL'S HIGH-END HOSIERY

Swiss knitwear high-end hosiery brand Fogal has been garnering attention with their latest packaging designs. Not only have they won the coveted Red Dot Design Award 2012, but their packaging has also been collected and exhibited by the Zurich Museum of Design. We love the naming, colour palette, timeless typography and how cool they look as a collection. Just hope Gran doesn't get crushed in the rush on hosiery.

HONG KONG: SNAP, CRACKLE, POP

Intoxicating market aromas, hustle and bustle and the ever present ding-ding of the double-decker trams kept us on our toes on recent jaunts to Hong Kong — three of us over the past few months, which may explain our very different responses. We loved the dazzling displays in super-sized shopping malls and were quite taken watching ice-skaters wizz past shoppers in another mall. Causeway Bay's elevated walkways looked like giant pinballs — to our eyes at least — only with people as balls.  As ever food was a priority as we sampled our way around the city, from mouthwatering dumplings to succulent goose, and thousand century eggs from Yung Kee Hong Kong Restaurant to divine Nutcases from Ms B's Cakery. We took refuge on the green peaks of Hong Kong where stellar views awaited, and we have to say how surprisingly beautiful the city's beaches are.

LAND OF THE GIANTS

To encounter one of these magnificent sculptures by Corey Thomas you'll have to head to Croajingolong National Park. Constructed using local trees and branches these works are part of Tourism Victoria's current marketing plan to woo the world down south. We're sold.

SMILES ALL ROUND

We're not sure what to make of these Predator shoes, but we can only imagine them giving new meaning to eating out.

MARIPOSA MARVELS

Our client and fellow butterfly fan Bonnie Gokson of C'est la B loves the work of Sir Peter Blake so much, she has one hanging in the shop.

Claire Morgan has taken installation to a whole new level with her marvelous installations using insects, butterflies and other animals. You can see more at Design Boom.

WIGGIN' OUT: KINDLE KINKS

A new book published by Sebastian Schmieg and Silvio Lorusso, 56 Broken Kindle Screens delivers exactly what it promises. According to the boys, broken Kindles and other e-Readers freeze their last images on their screens rather than going blank. The result are digital canvases featuring Wigged Out abstract art. We're enthralled.

THIS IS: CLOUDBURSTING

We really love Nuit Blanche (pictured) by Canadian artist Caitlind r.c. Brown. Constructed from thousands of light globes this cloud bursts with light when chains attached to some bulbs are pulled. Our only wish was to be there.
